Ios\u2019 32 beaches cover 75 km out of the island\u2019s total surface; beaches with golden sand and blue-green waters. Some of the most famous ones are Mylopotas and Maganari, where you can practice your favorite sea sports, while others like Yalos, Kubara, Valma, Tzamaria, Kolitsani, Ayia Theodoti, Psathy, Kalamos, Plakes, Pikri and Papa Nero wait for you to explore and relish them.<\/p>\n

The Past is Alive<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Archaelogical Museum of Ios named \u201cSkarko\u201d is worth visiting to see the actual first Cycladic settlement (2.800-2.700 B.C.). You can also visit the Roman Cistern at Ayia Theodoti, the Byzantine Castle at Psathy, as well as Plakotos village which claims to host the grave of the great ancient poet Homer.<\/p>\n
